About Us

Meet the Mixologists
Hi! We're the husband and wife duo behind The Minimal Mixologist.
Sasha (left) is the Chief Mixologist. A software engineer by trade, he brings his meticulous engineering mindset to the bar for every libation he creates. He's been slinging sensational craft cocktails for parties and events for several years and likes to shake/stir/blend unlikely but delicious flavor combinations. (Oat milk and stout in a Mai Tai? Why not!) Whether you're craving a tried and true classic, a modern showstopper, a crazy tiki drink, or an alcohol-free libation, he's got you covered.
Nikki (right) is the Chief Taster and keeps the ship afloat. While Sasha plays mad scientist with his syrups and tinctures, she makes sure that our clients are happy and the lights stay on. If you've ever been to an event we've hosted or bartended and thought, "Man, they're really on top of it!", it's entirely because of her.
Our Ethos
Sustainable Bartending
We strongly believe in sustainable and ethical bartending, and these practices are part of our core at The Minimal Mixologist. With every cocktail we make, we focus on reducing waste, water usage, and our carbon footprint.
Here are some examples of our sustainability practices:
- Utilizing as much of our fresh ingredients as possible, including skins and seeds. For example, with citrus, we use techniques like oleo saccharum and "super juice" to make use of the peels as well as the juice of each fruit; for mangoes, we make a syrup out of the skins and seeds. Where possible, we dehydrate and grind spent skins and use them as part of cocktail rims.
- Using more sustainable alternatives to common ingredients. For example, almonds traditionally make up the base for orgeat (a syrup commonly used in tiki drinks) but require an exceptional amount of water to grow—a single almond takes about 1.1 gallons, which means a typical batch of orgeat might use over 160 gallons of water. We instead prefer to make orgeat out of much more ecologically sound ingredients such as peanuts, pumpkin seeds, or pistachios.
- Avoiding animal products whenever possible, but sourcing them from ethical farmers when necessary. These days, there are a plethora of plant-based alternatives to ingredients like eggs and butter that work just as well without the ethical concerns.
No Hidden Fees, No Surprises
As customers, we hate businesses that nickel-and-dime you with bullshit fees and are generally opaque with their pricing. That's why our pricing structure is as transparent as possible, and we will never surprise you with additional costs that you weren't expecting.
